Originally, the N-phenyl analogue of SDB-006 rather than the N-benzyl counterpart was designated with code number SDB-005. This substance is a strong agonist of the CB2 (Ki = 140 nM) and CB1 (Ki = 21 nM) receptors.

SDB-005, however, was later used as the trade name for the previously stated indazole-3-carboxylate molecule, which was marketed as a designer medicine in Europe and registered under this name in the EMCDDA synthetic drug database.
